The Cheviot - August 2023
The blog from our guided walk up the Cheviot, the highest point in Northumberland.
The Cheviot - 2020
It was a glorious morning and the views and colours of the Harthope Valley were at their best as our group met at Langleeford. Although a much smaller number than usual due to the current Covid restrictions, the walkers were just pleased to be back out in the hills, and for two this was to be their first foray into the Cheviots.
The Cheviot - 2019
After the rains of the past week, it was with some relief that as we met at Langleeford for the start of today’s walk, it was a dry and bright morning with the summits of Hedgehope and Cheviot clearly visible.
The Cheviot – 2018
As we drove into the Harthope Valley cloud shrouded the summit of The Cheviot – our goal for the day – but otherwise it was a glorious morning warm and bright. Shortly after 9.30 Mark introduced himself and Sue to those walkers new to Shepherds Walks, outlined the day’s walk and began the ascent of our first hill, Cold Law.
