Challenge Walks - Entry terms and coditions

1. All entries must be made on an official Registration Form and accompanied by the entry fee.

2. The events are open to both runners and walkers.

3. Persons under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The minimum age for participants is 16.

4. Medical advice must be sought from your GP if you are not used to this level of physical endurance.

5. If you have any medical conditions please ensure that it is highlighted on the Registration Form and that you bring any appropriate medication with you.

6. Dogs are not permitted on the Coastal Challenge walk and North Pennine Way challenge walk but are allowed on the Coquet Valley Challenge walk

7. Comfortable strong walking boots/shoes are strongly recommended together with appropriate clothing to suit the conditions. A day pack containing additional clothing, waterproofs, sun-cream, insect repellent, hat, is also advisable.

8. Refreshment points will be located at intervals around the course, however, it is recommended that you bring with you additional food/water supplies.

9. First Aid assistance will be available at the refreshment points. However, if you require assistance between these locations, please seek advice from support officials.

10. Please dispose of litter at the refreshments points where refuse sacks will be available.

11. A goody-bag will be available upon completion of the challenge.

12. Event organisers/officials will recommend the withdrawal of anyone who they deem to be unfit to continue or who are unlikely to complete the challenge in the given time. Persons ignoring such recommendation will cease to be the responsibility of the organisers.

13. Images of the event may be used in promotional material both online and in print. If you have any concerns about this, please let us know at least 24 hours before commencement of the event. We will respect your privacy and handle the situation in a tactful manner.

14. If you wish to cancel your walk/ event/ course booking, you must notify us in writing (by post or email).

Refund policy, after customer cancellation

1. 56 days or more before course/walk/ event date - Full refund minus £5.00 admin charge or free transfer onto another event. If you transfer to another event as stated above this then becomes non refundable and non transferable to another event.

2. Less than 56 days before the course/walk/ event date no refund/ no transfer will be given.

Amendment of booking

i) If you are unable to take up your walk/ event/ course, you may arrange for someone else to attend/ go in your place provided that you notify us in writing (by post or email) at least 7 days before the course. A £5.00 administration charge (including VAT) will be charged to your credit card for this service.

If less than 7 days there will be a £10.00 admin fee.

No alterations can be made to any booking 3 days before the event date.

We will not be liable to pay any refunds or compensation if we are forced to cancel or change any aspect of the walk due to circumstances beyond our control which we could not have reasonably foreseen or forestalled. Such circumstances include, but are not restricted to, war or threat of war, terrorist activity, riots or civil strife, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire or bad weather experienced once the walk has started.
