A superb 23-mile challenge walk taking in the finest part of both the Pennine way and also the top end of the Coquet Valley, in the Cheviot Hills.

After registering at Linbriggs Farm, near to Alwinton in the Coquet Valley, we will bus you the 25 miles to Byrness.

From here, at the start of the Northern Pennine Way, Cheviot Hills challenge walk you will jump onto the Pennine Way.

You climb up out of Byrness and pass over Byrness Hill, Hoax Hill and walk over Coquet Head (the source of the River Coquet) before you reach and skirt around Chew Green and follow the Pennine Way as it follows the Border Fence, between Scotland and England, passing over Black Halls before reaching the Lamb Hill refuge hut.

Then you climb Lamb Hill, Beefstand Hill before reaching Checkpoint 1.

You will climb the mighty Windy Gyle and continue to follow the Pennine Way untill you reach Clennel Street. From here you will drop down to Checkpoint 2, located just before The Middle.

After passing over the Middle you drop down to Fairhaugh before following the beautiful Usway Burn down to Shillmoor.

From Shillmoor it is just a short walk back to Linbriggs Farm, the finish of this challenge walk.

Each participant will receive a goody bag at the finish line.
